The first nine mooring bollards that the Port Network Authority is having installed along the east bank of the Darsena Toscana have arrived from the foundry Fonderia Galliatese srl. Another 14 will soon be purchased and fitted to make various quays in the port suitable for the increasingly larger vessels
These interventions, costing over 600 thousand euros overall, are also necessary to improve the safety of berthing and mooring operations, which are critical in a number of port areas. The new facilities respond to different operational needs and are designed to optimize docking operations.
The executive design of the supply and installation of about 150 cylindrical fenders to be used for completely upgrading Livorno port’s public berth protection systems has also been completed.
In addition, the construction of 11 new corner fenders has been planned for the quay corners that have not been adequately protected to date, thus ensuring greater safety for the ships in the port’s harbour.
